Benefits of Duha prayer

Prayer is part of a believer’s life. We perform some prayers as a reward outside of the obligation. Such as Tahajjud, Awabin, duha etc. These prayers have unique benefits. So, the Duha prayer, in particular, has unique features and benefits.

As Muslims, we should first learn the benefits and virtues of the Duha prayer, then perform it as much as possible in our free time. It will help us to attain Paradise in the Hereafter and make us beloved servants of Allah in this life.

Introduction and time of Duha prayer

Duha prayer, also known as Farunun or mid-morning prayer. It is a voluntary or non-obligatory prayer in Islam. After one-third of the day has passed, the time of Duhar begins. It remains until the sun goes down.

According to the clock, Duha time starts from 9 am in summer and 10 am in winter. The hadith mentions two, six, eight, and twelve Rakats of the Duha prayer.

For this, the Duha prayer should be performed with at least two Rakats. More than two Rakats up to twelve Rakats can be performed as much as desired.

Ayesha (RA) used to pray eight Rakats and say, ‘Even if my parents rise from their graves, I will not leave them.’ (Mishkat Sharif)

Umm Hani (R.A.) narrated, Rasulullah (S.A.W.) came to my house on the day of the conquest of Makkah and prayed eight Rakats of Chasht.

This nafal prayer increases spiritual strength and brings blessings and rewards from Allah. It can be read primarily by those who are penitent or facing challenges or difficulties in life because Allah Ta’ala is powerful enough to get rid of all difficulties through this.
