Translation of Surah Naba

  1. What are they interrogating each other about?
  2. About the big news,
  3. About which they disagree.
  4. Not then, soon they will know.
  5. I did not bed the ground
  6. And nail the mountains?
  7. I created you in pairs,
  8. I have made your sleep a fatigue remover,
  9. Covered at night.
  10. I made the day the time to earn a living,
  11. I have built strong seven-sky over your heads.
  12. and created a bright lamp.
  13. I send down abundant rain from the watery clouds,
  14. So that we produce crops and plants through it.
  15. And leafy gardens.
  16. Surely the Day of Judgment is fixed.
  17. On the day when the trumpet will be blown, you will be gathered together in groups.
  18. The sky split open; It will create many doors.
  19. And the mountains will be driven into mirages.
  20. Hell surely awaits,
  21. As a haven for transgressors.
  22. They will stay there for centuries.
  23. There they shall taste no coolness and drink;
  24. But boiling water will get pooja.
  25. As a full reward.
  26. Surely they did not expect a reckoning.
  27. And uttered falsehoods in My verses.
  28. I recorded and saved everything.
  29. So, enjoy yourselves, I will only increase your punishment.
  30. Success belongs to the pious.
  31. Gardens, vineyards,
  32. A young woman of the same age.
  33. And a full cup.
  34. They will not listen to vain and false words there.
  35. It is a due bounty from your Lord,
  36. Who is Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between, the Merciful, with whom no one can speak.
  37. The Day when the Spirit and the Angels will stand in a row. No one can speak except whom the Merciful Allah permits, and he speaks the truth.
  38. This day is true. Then whoever wishes, let him make an address to his Lord.
  39. I warned you of the impending punishment, the day when man will witness what he sent before and the disbelievers will say: Alas, alas-I wish I had become dust.
