  • Allahu Akbar once and ‘Astaghfirullah’ three times.

Meaning: Allah is great. O Allah! I am begging you for forgiveness.

  • ‘Allahumma Antas Salam Wa Minkas Salam, Taba-Rakata Ya Jal-Jalali Wal Ikram’ – 1 time.

ﺍﻟﻠَّﻬُﻢَّ ﺃَﻧْﺖَ ﺍﻟﺴَّﻼَﻡُ، ﻭَﻣِﻨْﻚَ ﺍﻟﺴَّﻼَﻡُ، ﺗَﺒَﺎﺭَﻛْﺖَ ﻳَﺎ ﺫَﺍ ﺍﻟْﺠَﻼَﻝِ ﻭَﺍﻟْﺈِﻛْﺮَﺍﻡِ

Meaning: O Allah! You are peaceful, from you comes peace. Blessed are You, O Mighty and Honorable.

Narrated by Sawban (RA). He said: “When the Prophet (PBUH) used to return the salam, he used to read Istighfar, meaning ‘Astaghfirullah’ three times. Then he used to say: “Allahumma Antas Salam Wa Minkas Salam, Tabarakta Ya Jal-Jala-Li Wal-Ikram”. -Muslim 1/218, Abu Dawud 1/221)

‎لاَ إِلهَ إِلاَّ الله وَحْدَهُ لَ شَرِيْكَ لَهُ, لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَ هُوَ عَلى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ

  • Pronunciation:- La ilaha illallah-hu ahdahu la shariqa lah, lahul mulku alahulhamdu ahua ala kulli shayin qadir. once

Meaning:- There is no true Lord but Allah, He is One, He has no partner, to Him belongs all dominion, to Him is all praise and He is powerful over all things.

‎اَللّهُمَّ لاَ مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَلاَ مُعْطِىَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ وَلاَ يَنْفَعُ ذَا الَجَدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَدُّ

  • Pronunciation:- Alla-humma la ma-nia lima attaita, ala mu’tia lima mana’ta ala yanfau jal jaddi minkal jaddu. once

Meaning – O Allah! No one can stop what you give and give what you withhold. And the wealth of the rich will not be of any avail to free you from your torment. (Bukhari, Muslim, Sahih, Mishkat no. 962)

‎لاَ حَوْلَ وَلَاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِالله

Pronunciation:- La-haula ala qwuwata illa billa-h. once

Meaning:- There is no power to turn away from sin and do good without the inspiration of Allah. (Muslim, Sahih, Mishkat No. 963)

  • Ayatul Kursi (Surah Baqarah verse: 255) 1 time.

Abu Umama (R.A.) said, Rasulullah (S.A.W.) said, “Whoever recites Ayatul Kursi after every obligatory prayer, nothing but death can prevent him from entering Paradise.” (Nasa’i, Hadith Sahih, Silsilah Sahih-Hadith 972)

  • Abu Hurairah narrates from Rasulullah SAW that he said, “Whoever recites ‘Subhanallah’ 33 times ‘Alhamdulillah’ 33 times ‘Allahu Akbar’ after every prayer and once to complete 100 times “La-Ila-Ha Illallah-hu wah dahu la-sharika lahu lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu wa hua ala kulli shayin qadir”, all his sins are forgiven. Although it is equivalent to sea foam. (Muslim-1228).

عن جابر بن عبدالله رضي الله عنه قال: [كَانَ لا يَنامُ حتى يقرأَ الم تَنْزِيلُ السَّجْدَةُ، و تَبارَكَ الذي بيدِهِ الملكُ

Rasulullah SAW. Do not sleep without reciting Surah Mulk and Alif Lam Mi Sajda.

Surah Alif Lam Meem Sajda deals with human death, resurrection, doomsday, the judgment of Almighty Allah and the reckoning of the Hereafter. By reading this Surah, a Muslim can review his actions.

He can recall the good and bad deeds through which he has lived throughout the day. One can come to terms with one’s own mind about wrongfully enjoying other people’s wealth and correcting the deeds that Allah Ta’ala has done that are displeasing.
