On the authority of Abdullah Ibn Yazid Al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him), he said that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) used to say these words in supplication:

(Tirmidhi, Hadith: 3491)

Qais Ibn Obada (R.A.) said Ammar Yasar led the people in prayer. He shortened the prayer — it seemed as if the people disliked it, and He understood it and said, “Didn’t I complete Ruku and Sajdah?” They said yes, of course. He said listen, I have recited all those duas in the prayer – which the Prophet (PBUH) recited.

Arabic:

اَللّٰهُم إِنيْ أَسْئَلُكَ الشوْقَ إِلى لِقَائِكَ وَلَذةَ النظْرِ إِلى وَجْهِكَ الْكَرِيْمِ

Meaning: O Allah! Surely, I desire to meet you and notice your respectable appearance. (Nasa’i, Hadith: 1305)

The way to get the love of Allah

Along with making Dua, another way to gain the love of Allah Ta’ala is to love other people or animals for Allah’s sake. It helps achieve the love of Allah Ta’ala.

There is a lengthy hadith narrated by Imam Malek (R.A.) in the book Muattaye Imam Malek, in part of which he said, Narrated Abu Idris Khawlani (R.A.), I entered the mosque of Damascus.

There I saw a young man, whose teeth were very bright white (like pearls) and many people were with him. Whenever there was a difference of opinion on a matter, the word of that young man was considered sanad (reliable), and the final decision was based on his word.

I (Abu Idris) asked the man, who is this young man? They said, “This is Mu’adh Ibn Jabal (R.A.). The following day, I went (to the mosque) and found that he (Mu’adh ibn Jabal) had reached there before me and was praying.

Something special

There are many supplications in the hadith. A prayer is mentioned here only with a view to the topic under discussion.

May Allah Rabbul Alamin grant us Tawfiq to recite our Duas, follow His rules thoroughly, and earn Allah’s love.
