FAQs

What to do if you can’t perform Zuhr Sunnah prayer first?

Due to lack of time, many people often cannot recite the Sunnah before Zuhr before Fard. In the discussion of different books of Hadith and Fiqh-Fatwa, it is known that if a person cannot pray the four rak’ahs of Sunnah before the Zuhr prayer, then he should pray the four rak’ahs of Sunnah after the fard.

Because it is known from the hadith, the Prophet (PBUH) gave so much importance to the Sunnah four Rakats before Zuhr that sometimes if he could not read them before then he would read them even after the fard. On the authority of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she said, “The Prophet (may peace be upon him) used to recite the four rak’ahs of Sunnah before Zuhr if he could not recite them before the obligatory prayer.” (Tirmidhi, Hadith No. 2/291)

In another hadith by Ayesha (RA), Rasulullah (SAW) never missed the four rak’at Sunnah before Zuhr and the two rak’at Sunnah before Fajr. (Bukhari, Hadith No: 1127; Nasa’i, Hadith No: 1757)

So the rule is, if someone can’t read before, he will read later. Sometimes there is not enough time to pray four rakat sunnah before Zuhr.

In this case, if possible, two Rakats should be read before the obligatory prayer. However, since the four Rakats before Zuhr are Muakkadah, so if you are unable to pray four Rakats before Zuhr, you should perform two Raksts after Zuhr to make up for the previous four Rakats. (Tirmidhi, Hadith No: 426)

can be read Sunnah for Zuhr as two rakat and wo rakat?

Yes, it can be prayed and it is better to read it like this. If you perform two Rakats and two Rakats, you will be able to complete the Sunnah as much as it needs to be done.

The instruction of the Prophet (PBUH) is to perform two Rakats two and Rakats. Let it be night prayer and day prayer. If someone prays four rak’ahs together, then it is permissible for us to pray like this.
