In today’s post, I will discuss which Surah to recite after the Maghrib prayer and what deed to do after the Maghrib prayer.
All of us should do some extra deeds after praying five times. Reciting some surahs after every obligatory prayer will add additional reward to our deeds. It can be a way for us to go to paradise in the Hereafter. So, let’s find out which Surah recite after the Maghrib prayer.
Which Surah to recite after the Maghrib prayer?
After the Maghrib prayer, you can recite Surah Waqbiyah. But it is not mandatory to read. You can also read any other surah. After performing the three Rakats of Maghrib obligatory prayer, we can recite some surahs, which will be a means of salvation for us. Also, in the Hereafter, we will be rewarded for reciting these Surahs. So, let’s find out which Surah should be repeated after the Maghrib prayer.
Reciting Ayatul Kursi
Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “Whoever recites Ayatul Kursi after every obligatory prayer, there will be no obstacle in his way to enter Paradise except death.” (Shu’abul Iman, Hadith: 2395)
Pronunciation: Allahu La Ilaha Illa Huwal Hayyul Qayyum, La Ta’Khujuhu Sinatuon Wala Naum. Lahu ma fis samawati wama fil ardi, maan jallaji yashfau indahu illa bi ijinhi. Ya’lamu ma baina aidihim wama khalfahum, wala yuhituna bishaiyim min ilimhi illa bima sha-a. Wasia Kursiyuhus Samawati Wal Arda, Wala Yaudhu Hifjuhuma, Wahuwal Aliyul Azim. (Surah Baqarah, verse: 255)
Ayatul Kursi is the most prestigious verse of the Quran. It will take less than 1 minute to read this verse. After the Fajr prayer, reciting this verse will start our day with Allah’s mercy and blessings.
After praying five times, we can recite one verse. It will take only 5 minutes in a day. For 5 minutes hereafter, we will get the paradise of eternal peace.
Recitation of Surah Waqiya after Maghrib prayer
The conversation of Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Masood (R.A.) on his last bed has been mentioned in the books of various Tafsirs about the recitation of Surah Waqiya after Maghrib prayer or at night. Hazrat Uthman (R.A.) said I heard Hazrat Rasulullah (SAW) say, “Whoever recites Surah Waqiya every night, he will never fast.” – Tafseer Ma’areful Qur’an: 8/106
Recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar
Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam mentioned in the hadith that, ‘If one recites the following Istighfar morning and evening with firm belief and dies on that day or night, he will enter Jannat. (Bukhari, Hadith: 6306)
Pronunciation : Allahumma Anta Rabbi, La Ilaha Illa Anta, Khalaktani, Wa Ana Abduka, Wa Ana Ala Ahidka Wa Wa’dika Mastata’tu, Auzu Bika Min Sharri Ma Sana’tu, Abuu Laka Bini’matika Alaiya, Wa Abuu Bijambi Fagfirli Fainahu La Yagifaruz Junuba Illa Anta.
Meaning: ‘O Allah! You are my Lord. There is no god but You. You created me. I am your slave; I stand firm in my promises and commitments to you as much as I can. And I seek refuge in you from the evil of my deeds. I acknowledge Your grace upon me, and I believe my sin. So forgive me because no one forgives sins except You.
What Tasbeeh to read after Maghrib?
Some deeds can be done after the Maghrib prayer. About which many of us do not know. Today, I will discuss these practices. You can perform these acts after performing three obligatory Rakat of Maghrib prayers. By doing this, rewards will be added separately to our deeds, and we will get a much better reward in the Hereafter than these deeds.
Subhanallah 33 times, Alhadulillah 33 times, Allahu Akbar 33 times, La-ila-ha illallahu wahdahu la-sharika lahu; Lahul Mulku; Walahul Hamdu; Wahuwa Ala- Kulli Shayin Qadir (1 time). By reciting them, sins are forgiven, even if they are as numerous as the foam of the sea. (Muslim, Hadith: 1240)
Many people are seen doing dhikr or reciting various tablets after performing obligatory prayers. If we read these Tasbeehs after every obligatory prayer, we will add more rewards to our deeds.
Also, dhikr will protect our hearts from Satan. After performing the Maghrib prayer, we can recite the above Tasbeeh.
In this way, many more deeds can be done after the Maghrib prayer, which the Holy Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, has taught us. So, let’s see what these practices are.
What is the Sunnah practice after the Maghreb?
Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, ‘Allahumma Antas Salam Wa Minkas Salam, Tabarakta Ya Jal-Jala-Li Wal-Ikram’ – used to wear it. (Muslim, Hadith: 1221)
‘Allahumma Ajirni Minan Nar’ 7 times, after Fajr and Maghrib. If he dies that day or that night, Allah will save him from hell. (Abu Dawud, Hadith: 5080)
After Fajr and Maghrib, Surah Ikhlas, Falaq, and Surah Nas, three times each. Rasul (PBUH) said you will not need anything else if you recite them in the morning and evening.
Darood Sharif 10 times, after Fajr and Maghrib. The intercession of the Prophet (PBUH) will be obtained on the Day of Resurrection.
Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “Whoever says 100 times a day,
«سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ» (Subhanallah-hi Wabihamdihi) His sins are erased, even if they are equal to the foam of the sea. (Bukhari, Hadith: 6405; Muslim, Hadith: 2691)
Rasool (pbuPBUH) used to say Astaghfirullah 3 times after every obligatory prayer. (Muslim, Hadith: 1222)
Our last words

But it should be remembered that reciting Surah Waqiyah and any other Surah after Maghrib is not obligatory. But reciting Dua and Tasbeeh is Sunnah.
