Islamic Good Morning Dua

Islamic Good morning Dua is the command of Almighty Allah. In the Holy Qur’an, Almighty Allah has repeatedly declared this matter: “O believers, remember Allah more and proclaim Allah’s holiness and glory in the morning and evening.”

In another verse, Almighty Allah further declares:

وَ سَبِّحۡ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّکَ بِالۡعَشِیِّ وَ الۡاِبۡکَارِ

“And proclaim the glorification and glory of your Lord morning and evening.” (Surah Mu’min: Verse 55)

In another verse Allah says:

وَ سَبِّحۡ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّکَ قَبۡلَ طُلُوۡعِ الشَّمۡسِ وَ قَبۡلَ الۡغُرُوۡبِ

“And proclaim the glorification and glory of your Lord before sunrise and sunset.” (Surah Kaf: verse 39)

Islamic Good Morning Dua with Pronunciation and Meaning

  • Dua will read 100 times in the morning.

سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ

Pronunciation: ‘Subhanallahi wa Bihamdihi’.

Meaning: ‘Declaring the glory of Allah with His praise.’ (Bukhari 6405, Muslim 2692, Mishkat 2296-2297)

  1. Recitation of Surah Qul Huwallahu Ahad, Qul Auzu Birabbil Falaq, and Qul Auzu Birabbinnas three times in the morning and evening. Which will suffice from the evil of everything.’ (Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi)

Meaning: ‘O Allah! By Your command is our morning, and by Your command is our evening, by Your command we live, by Your command we die, and to You our revival.

  • Dua 1:

اللَّهُمَّ بِكَ أَصْبَحْنَا وَبِكَ أَمْسَيْنَا، وَبِكَ نَحْيَا وَبِكَ نَمُوتُ وَإِلَيْكَ النُّشُورُ

Transliteration: Allahumma bika asbahna wa bika amsayna, wa bika nahya wa bika namootu, wa ilayka annushoor.

Translation: O Allah, by Your leave, we have reached the morning, and by Your leave, we have reached the evening; by Your leave, we live and die, and unto You is our resurrection.

  • Dua 2:

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ

Transliteration: Alhamdu lillahi alladhi ahyana ba’da ma amatana wa ilayhi annushoor.

Translation: Praise be to Allah, Who has given us life after having taken it from us, and unto Him is the resurrection.

اللَّهُمَّ مَا أَصْبَحَ بِي مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ أَوْ بِأَحَدٍ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ فَمِنْكَ وَحْدَكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ، فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَلَكَ الشُّكْرُ

Transliteration: Allahumma ma asbaha bi min ni’matin aw bi ahadin min khalqika faminka wahdaka la sharika laka, falakal hamdu walakal shukr.

Translation: O Allah, whatever blessing has come to me or any of Your creation is from You alone; you have no partner. All praise is for You, and all gratitude.

Morning dua for knowledge

  • Dua 4:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا

Transliteration: Allahumma inni as’aluka ‘ilman nafi’an, wa Rizqan tayyiban, wa ‘amalan mutaqabbalan.

Translation: O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, reasonable provisions, and accepted deeds.

  • Dua 5:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَصْبَحْتُ أُشْهِدُكَ، وَأُشْهِدُ حَمَلَةَ عَرْشِكَ، وَمَلَائِكَتِكَ، وَجَمِيعَ خَلْقِكَ، أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ وَحْدَكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُكَ وَرَسُولُكَ

Transliteration: Allahumma inni asbah’tu ush-hiduka, wa ush-hidu hamalata ‘arshika, wa malaa’ikataka, wa jamee’a khalqika, annaka anta Allahu la ilaha illa anta wahdaka la shareeka laka, wa anna Muhammadan ‘abduka wa rasooluka.

Translation: O Allah, I bear witness that You are Allah, there is no deity except You, You are One, You have no partner, and Muhammad is Your servant and messenger.

  • Dua 6:

رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا، وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا، وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَبِيًّا

Transliteration: Radheetu billahi rabban, wa bil-Islami deenan, wa bi-Muhammadin nabiyyan.

Translation: I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, Islam as my religion, and Muhammad (peace be upon him) as my prophet.

Good Morning Dua Hadith

أَمْسَيْنَا وَأَمْسَى الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ، رَبِّ أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ مَا فِي هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ وَخَيْرَ مَا بَعْدَهَا، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا فِي هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ وَشَرِّ مَا بَعْدَهَا، رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكَسَلِ وَسُوءِ الْكِبَرِ، رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ فِي النَّارِ وَعَذَابٍ فِي الْقَبْرِ

Pronunciation : Amsaina Wa Amsal Mulku Lillah, Walhamdu Lillahi La Ilaha Illallahu, Wahdahu La Sharika Laah, Lahul Mulku Walahul Hamdu Wahua Ala Kulli Shayin Qadir.

Rabbi Asaluka Khaira ma fi hajihil lailati wa Khaira ma badaha, wa auzubika min shari ma fi hajihil lailati wa shari ma badaha, Rabbi auzubika minal kasali wa suil kibari, Rabbi auzu bika min azabin finnari wa azabin fil qbari.’

Meaning: ‘We and the whole kingdom reached the evening for the sake of Allah. All praise be to Allah; there is no true god but Allah; he is One, He has no partner, to Him is all dominion, to Him is all praise, and He has power over all things.

O my Lord! I pray to You for the goodness that lies in this night and the goodness that lies beyond. And I seek refuge with You from the evil this night and the evil hereafter.

O my Lord! I seek refuge in You from the evils of laziness and old age. O my Lord! I seek refuge with You from all Hell and the grave punishments.’

This dua should be recited in the evening. This prayer should be repeated in the morning as well. But while reading in the morning, instead of ‘Amsaina wa Amsal,’ one should say ‘Asbahana wa Asbahal.’ Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) also recited it. (Muslim 2723)

Sayyedul Istegfar


اللَّهُمَّ عَالِمَ الغَيْبِ والشَّهَادَةِ، فَاطِرَ السَّموَاتِ والأرْضِ، رَبَّ كُلِّ شَيءٍ ومَلِيْكَهُ، أشْهَدُ أنْ لا إلَهَ إلاَّ أنْتَ، أعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ نَفْسِي، وَمِنْ شَرِّ الشَّيْطَانِ وَشِرْكِهِ

Pronunciation: ‘Allahumma anta rabbi la ilaha illa anta khalaktani, wa ana abduka wa ana ala ahdika wa wadika mastatwatu, aujubika min shari ma sanatu, abuu laka bi-nimatika alaiyya wa abuu bijambi fagfirli fainahu la yagfiruz junuba illa anta.’

Meaning: Oh God! You are my Lord. There is no true god but You. You have created me, and I am your servant. I stand as strong as possible on your promise and commitment and seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge the wealth you have over me and my guilt. So forgive me, as no one can forgive sins except You.’

If one recites this supplication in the evening and dies that night, or in the morning and dies that day, he will enter Paradise.’ (Bukhari 6323)

عَالِمَ الغَيْبِ والشَّهَادَةِ, فَاطِرَ السَّمَاتِ الْرضِ, رَبَّ كُلِّ شَيدٍ وَلِيْكَهُ, اشْدُ انْ لَا إلَهَ إلَّ انْتَ, عُوئُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ نَفْسِي, وَمِنْ شَرِّ الشَّ يْطَانِ وَشِرْكِهِ

Pronunciation: ‘Allahumma alimal ghaybi wasshahadati, fa-tweeras samawati wal ardi rabba kulli shayin wa malikahu, ashhadu al la ilaha illa anta aujubika min shari nafsi wa min sharish shaytni wa shirkihi.’

Meaning: O knower of presence and absence! Creator of the heavens and the earth! Lord of everything! God is the ruler! I bear witness that there is no true god but You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul and the evil and shirk of Satan.

This dua should be recited in the morning and evening and at bedtime. (Riyadus Salehin 1454, Tirmidhi 3392)

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

Pronunciation: ‘Bismillahillaji la yadurru maasmihi shayun fil ardi wala fissamayi wahuwas samiul aleem.’

Meaning: ‘I begin in the name of Allah, with whose name nothing in the earth or sky can harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

Reciting this dua three times in the evening will not harm anything. (Tirmidhi 3388)

  • You will read this dua in the morning from all evil.

أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ

Pronunciation: Auju Bikalimatillahit Tammati Minshari Ma Khalaka.

Meaning: ‘I seek refuge from the evil of what He has created with the help of the perfect words of Allah.’

If this dua is recited in the evening, Nosnake-Scorpion, etc, can trouble that night. (Meshkat 2422, Tirmidhi 3437)
